Kurz Synopsis

I wrote this piece in the summer of 2016 for the love of my life, Amy Pollitz, as a birthday gift. The form of the piece was influenced by her interest in the great waltzes of the 19th century, as well as our shared passion for jazz and other popular music styles. The piece itself begins with a brief ethereal introduction, which quickly develops into a melodic main theme, followed by a varied development that resolves after the reprise into an energetic coda, incorporating many extended playing techniques such as tapping, string strikes, pizzicatos, and more.

It is quite possible that I will never become wealthy through my work. However, I hope that my music, if not earning the attention of the music world, will one day gain the respect of the woman I love. In doing so, I would consider myself one of the most successful men on Earth.
