Sean Robert Silva is a German-American guitarist and composer based in Karlsruhe, Germany.


Recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, including the 28th Siegburg Composition Competition, Klangspektrum BW, the Baden-Württemberg Foundation Scholarship (2013/14) as well as a scholarship from the Ministry of Science, Research, and Art Baden-Württemberg (2021), he has also been broadcast on the German public radio station SWR2 (Südwestrundfunk).


His works have, among others, been performed at the MDR Musiksommer (Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk), Weilburger Schlosskonzerte, and the 23rd Durlacher Orgelnacht. His compositions have been available through Universal Edition since 2025.


He studied at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe and also received additional support and inspiration through various masterclasses with many of the leading guitarists and composers of our time, including Stephen Goss, Markus Hechtle, William Kanengiser, Hubert Käppel, Martin Smolka, Meng Su, Scott Tennant, and Andrew York.
