Biography

Born on the 28th of August, 1991 the German / US-American guitarist and composer Sean Robert Silva is one of the most versatile and talented musicians of our time.

He studied in San Francisco (USA), Trossingen and Karlsruhe (Germany) and also received additional support and inspiration through various masterclasses with many of the leading guitarists / composers of our time, including Stephen Goss, William Kanengiser, Hubert Käppel, Pavel Steidl, Meng Su, Scott Tennant and Andrew York.

Recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, including the 28th Siegburg Composition Competition, Klangspektrum BW, the Baden-Württemberg Foundation Scholarship 2013 / 14 as well as a scholarship from the Ministry of Science, Research and Art Baden-Württemberg 2021 and has also been broadcasted on the German public radio station SWR2 (Südwestrundfunk).

Additionally, he has various publications of his own compositions, which are currently available from the publishers Edition 49, Louis Ignatius Gall Foundation / ELGO productions or from the composer directly.

At the moment Sean is based in Karlsruhe where he works as a guitarist, composer and music teacher.
